The cuisine of the Romani people is basic - created often under very adverse conditions as they survive in the toughest places, as do the nasturtiums.
Even so, their heritage from their original homeland is shown in the spices used in many of their recipes. The recipes are all given as cooked on the road. Although many of my family became settled Roma we still maintain that the open fire books best.
This book tells only of the author's family and people. It claims no academic treatise, nor cordon bleu knowledge - just a taste of a child's learning from over sixty years ago.
