New World was standing in one of the most famous courts - The Old Bailey in London - and NOT as tourists. We were on trial and being judged by a jury of our peers. So what was our crime!! Was it murder? Espionage? Robbery perhaps? No!! All of these crimes paled into insignificance compared to that which had placed us in this position. Well, at least that was in the opinion of the person against whom it was perpetrated, so what was this heinous crime and how did it come about?
Once upon a time - I know it sounds like a bit of a fairy tale (and it was). Like the witch in 'Snow White', the witch being the press and the police, cooking up a brew to poison us, and us playing the part of Snow White (I'm not saying we were squeaky clean but we certainly weren't what the press labeled us to be). If we, or should I say I, had been guilty of anything, it's that of being normal, like any other red-blooded male, the only difference is, being a celebrity, it gave me the opportunity to be normal more often than most.
But sadly, no Prince Charming at the end to give us the kiss of life and to quote another fairy tale when it was over, all the king's horses and all the king's men couldn't put New World back together again.
P.S. Every verb in this book is true, but the odd noun has been changed to protect the guilty!
